Pick-up Truck MVC

E412 had just returned to the station from a gas leak call and was dispatched for an MVC with a pick-up truck into a building.  S414 and E413 arrived to find a pick-up truck that had glanced off the side of the old ski shop building and come to rest beside it.  One patient had self extricated and a second needed help getting out of the vehicle. Crew from 41 and medics from station 56 and 50 worked with the patients in packaging and patient care.

Truck Overturned In a Field

S414 was alerted for a truck overturned in a field with a person trapped inside. S414, SU418 and T404 arrived in the area looking for the vehicle. SU418 was flagged down by a person who then led the units to the overturned vehicle. One person was inside with their hand trapped. Crews from 41, 40, 85 and 56 worked to extricate the patient.  The doors were removed from both sides, and spreaders and rams were used to move the piece of the vehicle from the person’s hand.  Apparatus was in service approximately an hour later.

E412 on a Chestnut Ridge Firebox

Engine 412 was alerted for a house fire in Chestnut Ridge’s area. E412 arrived 4th and was assigned RIT.  Other crews searched for the fire and was found in the HVAC room. E412 was requested to pull a handline and extinguish the fire. E412 worked with crews from 50, 39, 40, 49 and 2 to overhaul and ventilate the structure.

Owings Mills Apartment Fire

Last night around 11pm, E412 and S414 were alerted for an apartment fire with multiple calls. E412 arrived with E19 and assumed 3rd engine duties. Crew from E412 stretched an apartment load (attack line) to assist crews from 31 and 19 with a fire in the storage area.  E412 and crews from other stations extinguished the fire.  Station 41 and 31 remained on-scene for an extended period of time ventilating the apartments.

MVC in Owings Mills with Patient Trapped

This evening S414 along with apparatus from Owings Mills, Garrison and other areas were alerted for an MVC on Owings Mills Blvd with a patient trapped. Owings Mills arrived and confirmed entrapment and requested a helicopter to transport the patient.  Crews worked for about 15 minutes to extricate the patient who was then transported to the hospital.

MVC with entrapment on Route 30

Station 41 was dispatched for for an MVC with people trapped on Route 30.  Squad 414 arrived to find a two vehicle MVC with one on the  embankment with two patients trapped. The crews from Squad 414, Engine 412, Special Unit 418, and Medic 415 along with surrounding companies extricated two patients and flew one to Shock Trauma.

Restaurant Fire in Hampstead

At around 0115hours this morning to E412 was alerted to respond to a building fire in Hampstead (Carroll County). E412 responded with 4 and went to work opening a hole in the roof followed by assisting crews inside with overhaul operations. The fire eventually went to 2 alarms. E412 operated for approximately 2 hours before returning to service.
