Come celebrate with us.
Last night Reisterstown and surrounding fire companies were alerted to a house fire in Reisterstown just before 1am. Engine 413 and Squad 414 responded and was shortly followed by Special Unit 418 with another 4 members. Engine 413 arrived with nothing showing. The crew was notified the fire was in the alpha-bravo corner bedroom on the second floor so pulled a handline in the front door. Two from Squad 414’s crew put a 14′ ladder to the small roof to check for fire and to vent. The crew inside hit the fire in the bedroom and the window was simultaneously taken out. Flames rolled out the window while the fire was being knocked by the inside crew. The fire was knocked and crews checked for extension. The fire damage was contained to just the one room. Crews were back in service after approximately 90 minutes.
E412 was alerted for a dumpster fire at 10:17 and arrived to a fully involve dumpster fire. The crew from 412 extinguished the fire using foam and returned in service by 10:38.
Tonight the Reisterstown crew did rope rescue training (z-rig, pig rig, packaging the patient, etc).
Tuesday night is training night for the juniors. Tonight’s training was donning gear. The goal is to have the gear on in one minute and to have the breathing apparatus on in another minute. For now the goal is to get it on properly, first, and then work on speed.
E412 and E401 respond to a fully involved auto fire just off of Chatsworth Ave. The neighbors were on scene with garden hoses until fire department personnel arrived and put it out.
Several Baltimore County apparatus were requested on mutual aid to a Carroll County box in Gamber’s area. Engine 412 and Squad 414 both responded and Engine 412 arrived as fourth engine in. Engine 412 pulled a line off of Gamber’s engine and took it inside to fight the fire. Units were on scene for approximately two hours.
Earlier today a collision was called in right near Camp Fretterd on Route 30. Squad 414 and IV415 responded on the call. Two vehicles were found in the ditch. Patients self extricated but were transported to hospital. Hazmat 114 was called due to fuel leaking in the ditch from the van. Reisterstown would like to thank those at Camp Fretterd who came out to help with the accident and patient care.
These pictures are of an auto fire in Reisterstown about a week ago. We had just returned from a mutual aid fire call to Carroll County. Approximately 10 minutes after returning to station from Carroll County, Engine 412 was dispatched for a fully involved SUV.
Thank you to Interrupted Modeling for sending these great pictures along.
