2nd Alarm Apartment Fire in Randallstown

Around 1am on Sunday July, 15,2012 Baltimore Co. 911 center received a call for an apartment fire 8504 Glen Michael Lane.  A few minutes later Engine 18 from the Randallstown station arrived reporting heavy fire on the third floor and possible people trapped.  Rescue Squad 414 was alerted to respond on the working fire assignment.  Engine 18 later requested the 2nd alarm and all firefighters were evacuated from the building.  Upon arrival Rescue Squad 414 was assigned to RIT.

Rescue on Tufton Ave.

Around 1 am, units from Chestnut Ridge were alerted for an accident on Tufton Ave and Mantua Mill Rd.  While enroute, the call was upgraded to a rescue.  Engine 501 and Medic 505 arrived to find a vehicle 300′ off road in the middle of the field with one occupant trapped.  Rescue tools from Rescue Squad 414 and Special Unit 418 were utilized to extricate the patient.

Severe Storms Hit Northwest Baltimore County

Just before midnight on Friday, severe thunderstorms worked their way across Carroll County into Baltimore County.  The hardest hits areas were south of the Reisterstown area.  During the peak of the storm, Engine 412 and Rescue Squad 414 were first due on an apartment fire in Randallstown from quarters.  Power outages in the Pikesville area have caused water pumping station outage.  As water towers empty, the Reisterstown area will notice a significant drop in water pressure.  Residents are asked to conserve water until the water towers are refilled.  Full water service is expected to be restored by Sunday morning.

Rescue on Hanover Pike

At 9:45am Baltimore Co. Fire Dispatch alerted units for a motor vehicle accident at Hanover Pike and Weywood Drive.  As dispatch received more calls, a full rescue assignment was alerted.  Rescue Squad 414 found a overturned tractor trailer blocking all lanes and one vehicle into a telephone pole.  After assessing the scene, crews found on occupant trapped in both vehicles.  Both patients were extricated within 15 minutes.  A Haz Mat box was requested for diesel fuel leaking from the tractor trailer.

 

Dwelling Fire on Niner Rd.

Just after 3am.  Engine 412 was alerted for a dwelling fire on Niner Rd. in Carroll County.  First arriving Engine 131 from Gamber found a fully involved vacant dwelling.  The crew from engine 412 assisted in overhaul.  Units from Gamber, Reese, Sykesville, Reisterstown, Glyndon, Franklin, and Arcadia responded.  Fire was under control in about 2 hours.

Working Dwelling Fire on Gwynbrook Avenue

At 1:00 pm on Wednesday June 6, 2012,  units from Owings Mills, Garrison, Franklin, Chestnut Ridge, Reisterstown, Glyndon, and Pikesville were alerted for a dwelling fire on Gwynbrook Ave.  First arriving units found a chimney fire that had extended into the attic.  Engine Company 412 was assigned the Rapid Intervention Team and Rescue Squad 414 was assigned to the roof with Truck 404.  Station 41 was filled in by Gamber Engine 134.

Working Rescue on Falls Road

At 1 am. on April 25, 2012 Rescue Squad 414 and Special Unit 418 responded on a motor vehicle accident with rescue at Falls Rd. and Western Run Rd.  Units from Butler and Texas stations also responded.  Upon arrival, Engine 493 found a vehicle in the field with one occupant self extricated and one still in the vehicle.  Rescue Squad 414 helped stabilize the vehicle so the second occupant could be extricated.  Both patients were transported to the hospital via medic units.

2nd Alarm Apartment Fire on Caraway Rd.

Just shortly after 2 am. Baltimore County 911 received a report of an apartment fire to the rear of Future Care Cherrywood on Reisterstown Rd.  Units from Franklin, Reisterstown, Glyndon, Owings Mills, Garrison, and Randallstown were alerted.  Upon arrival, units reported a fully involved garden apartment building at 3 Caraway Rd. and requested a 2nd alarm.  Engine 412 was atttacking the fire with handlines while Rescue Squad 414 performed a search of the building.  After a collapse of the exterior wall on the third floor, the building was evacuated and exterior operations began.  The fire was called under control at 5:30 am.  Two civilians were transported to hospital.
