Restaurant Fire in Reisterstown

Approximately 2:30am this morning Reisterstown and many surrounding companies in both Baltimore and Carroll County were dispatched for a building fire at Genova’s up by the lumber company. E412 arrived to find fire coming from both the front and back of the building. A tanker strike team was dispatched as it is a non-hydrant area. Units worked for several hours to extinguish the fire and overhaul. E412 cleared the call early this morning.

Dwelling fire in Reisterstown

Sunday morning units were alerted for a garage fire on Gores Mill Road. Engine 412 arrived to find a garage fire with extension into the dwelling. Due to the lack of hydrants, a tanker strike team and second alarm was requested. The fire was quickly knocked down and under control within an hour. Engine 412, Engine 413, Medic 415, Special Unit 418, and Utility 419 responded.

Building Fire in Reese

Just after 2:00 am Engine 412 was dispatched for a building fire on Baltimore Blvd. in Reese. Crews from Reese found heavy smoke coming from an office building. The fire was located in the basement. The crew from Engine 412 was initially assigned to RIT. They were re-deployed to assist with pulling ceilings on the first floor. While operating on the first floor one of our firefighters fell through the floor into the basement when the floor underneath them collapsed. The firefighter was transported by Reese VFC Ambulance to Shock Trauma as a precaution.

The injured firefighter is home recovering from minor injuries. We would like to thank everyone who has reached out to check on the firefighter.

Townhouse Fire

Last night around 10pm E412 was dispatched for a townhouse fire in Glyndon. Units arrived to find a basement fire. E412 took a handline to the basement and extinguished the fire there. Other units extinguished the fire in the first floor. Units were on scene for several hours.

House Fire on Lyons Mill Road

Tonight around 6pm S414 and E412 were alerted for a house fire in Liberty Road’s area. Initial crews found a house on fire primarily on the right side (delta) of the house. S414 was assigned primary search (to confirm no one else is in the house) and E412 was directed to go to the 2nd floor and assist with extinguishing the fire. All units were on-scene for approximately 2 hours.

Residential Fire

This morning E412 along with surrounding volunteer and county units were dispatched for a house fire in Station 56’s area. E412 arrived to a single family house with smoke coming from the front door. Crews stretched a handline into the basement and put out a small fire. E412 was back in service approximately 1 hour later.

House Fire in Hereford

Last night S414 was alerted to a house fire in the Hereford area. We are not alerted as a first due unit that far away (20+ minute drive) but other units were busy. We went enroute along with surrounding engine and truck companies to the call. The first engine in arrived to find active fire on the delta (right) side of the building, the pulled in a handline to extinguish the fire. S414 arrived approximately 20 minutes later and were ordered to go inside and help look to make sure the fire was out. S414 driver setup lights around the house too. In all, S414 crew went in 3 times to help with overhaul and were even able to rescue a bearded dragon.

Two Car MVC

Last night M415 and S414 were alerted for a 2 car motor vehicle collision near Butler Road at Route 30. The ambulance and squad arrived to find 2 cars in the middle of the intersection. Thankfully neither driver was injured. The ambulance and squad waited on scene for the arrival of the police and then cleared the call.

House Fire in 56’s Area

Last night around 6pm E413 and S414 were alerted, along with surrounding stations, for a house fire off of Cherry Hill Rd in Station 56’s area. E56 arrived first with smoke showing from the house. E413 arrived second hooked up to a hydrant and took a handline into the house. S414 arrived shortly after and set up fans and assisted with other operations. In the end it was a small kitchen fire — two birds and a cat were rescued, as well. Units were on scene for approximately 45 minutes.
