Motor vehicle rescue on Hanover Pike
Shortly before midnight, Squad 414 was alerted for a 1050 PI on Hanover Pike and was upgraded to a rescue. Medic 435 arrived first followed shortly by S414. Two vehicles collided and one patient was difficult to get out of the vehicle. Two helicopters were called due to the mechanism of injury.
National Night Out
The Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company was out at the National Night Out in Reisterstown at Chartley Plaza with both Engines, Squad, Special Unit, Utility and Ambulance. Juniors from our Junior program showed kids around the apparatus.
Hose Test and Fireboxes
Station 41 had a busy night tonight. We started out testing hose on the Engines as part of standard safety tests. During our hose tests S414 and E412 handled a firebox in Glyndon’s area (which ended up being a light smoke from a lawnmower entering a house). About 30 minutes after returning to service S414 got a call for a local firebox in 56’s area. We were arrived and staged and then was cleared.
Dwelling Fire on St. Paul Ave.
Tonight at approximately 6:30p a firebox came out for dwelling fire on St Paul Ave in Glyndon. Reisterstown’s Engine 412 and Squad 414 arrived shortly after Engine 401 and setup for a fire attack with a 1 3/4″ handline. Two off the engine went the front door, through the house to keep the fire from spreading in the house. The squad’s crew went to division 2 to open the walls up to stop fire getting into the house. All crews remained on-scene for approximately 2 hours and then returned to service.
Ladder Training
While Engine 413 was at pump test, Engine 412, Rescue Squad 414 and Special Unit 418 went to a nearby complex for ladder training.
10-50 PI in Randallstown
After clearing Northwest Hospital IV415 picked up for 18-21 box for 1050-PI unknown status. IV415 arrived first on scene to a 3 car collision with 2 priority 4 and 1 priority 3 (refusal). Truck and Engine 18 were both on scene along with Medic 19.
Busy Monday night
Last night was warm and was one of the first rains we have had in weeks. This might have lead to the 3 rescue boxes that we had along with a 2nd alarm fire box in 46’s area. It all started around 9:30p last night with a call for S414 to assist on a rescue box up in Bulter’s area (Station 49). After this around midnight was a 2 alarm firebox in Liberty Roads area in which S414 and E412 responded. Crews were onscene for several hours and then back to the station. After a PI in 56’s area there was a rescue in Arcadia’s box area (Station 43) which both S414 and E412 responded. The evening was completed with another rescue box along Route 140 again with S414 and E412 responding along with other companies in the area.
