Apartment Fire on Straw Hat Road

At around 1800hours E412 responded with surrounding stations for a reported apartment fire. First arriving units reported a working fire in one of the first floor apartments. E412 arrived and at the direction of command conducted a primary search of the fire apartment and assisted with overhaul and extinguishment. Crews operated for approximately 1 hour before returning to service.

2018 Open House

We want to thank all those that came to the Open House this year.  The weather almost held out but it was on the cool side.  The public were able to see the Baltimore County Police helicopter, many apparatus from different departments and groups and an extrication demo.

Remembering a fallen hero

On July 26, 1928 at 9:45 AM the Reisterstown Volunteer Fire Company received a telephone call for a auto fire at Reisterstown Road and Gwynnbrook Ave.  While fighting the fire, Monroe H. Seitz received critical burns.  He was taken to University of Md. Hospital in Baltimore where he passed away later that evening.  He was 18 years old when he passed away.  Monroe was the first line of duty death in Baltimore County.

American Kempo

American Kenpo Karate Studio of Reisterstown held an end of school year event with moon bounce, cool out and other activities. RVFC was invited to show the kids the fire engines and medic and discuss safety at home.

In Memory of Gene Kirchner

Gene Kirchner

Firefighter / EMT

gene

Gene sustained critical injuries while performing a search on a dwelling fire April 24, 2013.  He succumbed to his injures on May 2, 2013 after an 8 day fight.  Gene was a 9 year member of our company and was a junior fire fighter for 2 years.

…five years and still missed by all.

Yearly Pump Test

Each year E412 and E413 must do a pump test through the county (as all engines). This is part of the National Fire Protection Agency standard  to ensure each engine is working to its peak efficiency.  Last night E412 was taken up to the pump test center.  Next week E413 will go as well.
