Busy Wednesday

Wednesday afternoon E412 was called up to Upperco’s area for a report of a fire in an attic. The house was in Baltimore County but up near Hampstead in Carroll County so a good distance for us.  E412 made it up there and went to work inside the attic doing  overhaul.

Not long after starting that work there was a report of an appliance fire a little further north and command requested E412 and E392 leave the house fire call (there were numerous other engines) and to go up to the other call.  Thankfully the second one appeared to be an overheated A/C unit so we were able to clear.

Car Against a House

This afternoon we were called for a car into a propane tank.  E412 arrived to find a car that had rolled onto a deck and down some basement stairs and up against a propane tank. Thankfully no one was injured and the tow company was able to safely pull the car out of it’s resting place.

Crash on Westminster Pike

Late last night a call came in for a motor vehicle collision in the area of 795 and Westminster Pike. It was then upgraded to an ejection and then upgraded to multiple ejections. S414 and M415 arrived to find a vehicle with multiple patients that had crossed the median and collided with a tractor trailer. Three more ambulances, along with another engine and a medevac Trooper were requested. Units packaged the patients which were then transported by the ambulances and helicopter. S414 remained on-scene for approximately an hour to provide lighting for the BCo Crash Team.

40-5 Townhouse Fire

Today around lunch time E412 along with many other area units were alerted for a townhouse fire in Glyndon’s area.  E412 arrived to a townhouse with fire coming out of the roof.  A second alarm was requested due to the amount of fire and exposures.  Apparatus from many surrounding stations worked together to put the fire out.

Glyndon Fire

A few nights ago Station 41 along with surrounding companies were alerted for a house fire in Glyndon’s area.  E56 arrived first and confirmed the fire.  E412 and S414 arrived shortly after E56 and established the water source, searched the house and assisted with extinguishment.  Our equipment was on-scene for approximately 2 hours.

Chestnut Ridge Fires

Wednesday afternoon and evening were very busy for RVFC.  Around 2pm we had a Carroll County fire box which we quickly cleared on as Carroll County units handled.  We got back in station and E412 was dispatched on a 2nd alarm fire in Chestnut Ridge’s area.  While that fire was going E413 was dispatched on another Carroll County fire which we arrived and cleared on.  Once we arrived back in station E413 was dispatched onto a second Chestnut Ridge fire (about a mile from the first).  After several hours both units were cleared.  E412 and S414 were dispatched on an apartment fire which turned out to be a pot of food.

Randallstown Apartment Fire

At around 2200 hours on January 19th S414 was alerted for an apartment fire in box area 18-03. First arriving units reported heavy fire showing and requested a second alarm for additional units. S414 responded with 5 and assisted crews on scene with extinguishing the fire that extended through the roofline into the adjacent building.  S414 operated for approximately 2 hours before returning to service.
