Engine 412 along with dozens of other units around Baltimore County were alerted for the house fire on Greenspring Ave. E412 assisted with water supply, and extinguishing the fire and was on scene for about 7 hours (3am to 10am this morning).
Autofire near I-795
This morning around 7:30am RVFC was alerted for an autofire near the top of I-795. E412 arrived to find a single vehicle with fire in the engine compartment. Crews pulled a handline and extinguished the fire.
3 Car MVC, Hit and Run
E412 was dispatched for a multi-vehicle MVC (hit and run) at the top of the 795. E412 and SU418 arrived to find two cars there and one vehicle that left towards the Carroll County line. No one needed to be transported and police remained on scene.
Auto fire this morning
Around 8am this morning E412 was dispatched for a car fire on Main St. E412 arrived to find a car with fire in the engine compartment.
Carroll House Fire
Very early this morning E412, S414 and 5 other Baltimore County fire apparatus were alerted for a dwelling fire with people trapped in Carroll County. E412 arrived, assisted with water supply and RIT. S414 arrived and was assigned to do the secondary search and assist with overhaul. Both units were on scene approximately 90 minutes before returning to service.
Heavy Rescue Training
This morning we did a heavy rescue training at Rockdale Towing and Peter’s Body Shop. They had set up two scenarios, one with a school bus partially on its side and leaning on a car and then a motor home sitting on top of a car. We don’t see these types of scenarios often (thankfully for all) but they are things that can happen, so it was great to be able to train on them in a controlled environment.
Pickup Truck Fire in Reisterstown
Yesterday evening Station 41 was alerted for a pickup truck on fire. E412 and E413 arrived to find a pickup truck fully involved. Crews extinguished the fire using the CAFS (compressed air foam system).
Holiday Bazaar Coming!
Extrication in Carroll County
Early this morning S414 was requested for an MVC in Carroll County. S414 arrived shortly after Gamber units to find a single pick-up truck into a tree. It took approximately 30 minutes to extricate the two people in the vehicle.
Engine Ops Training
Tonight, RVFC got together with Station 56 to do engine operation training in our first due. We hooked up to the hydrant, pulled handlines, ran the blitz-fire (high flow nozzle), and deck gun.
